Cybersecurity is the field of Information Security dealing with the analysis, design and development of tools and technologies with the final objective to protect IT systems from attacks. Such attacks typically aim to create damage to strategic business assets by compromising data and system confidentiality, integrity and availability.

Thus, it is fundamental to look to Cybersecurity from different and multi-disciplinary point of views i.e., by considering legal, human, technical, and organizational elements in the analysis of the system vulnerabilities , threats and associated risks.

The Summer School on Hot Topics in Cybersecurity is organized from the Italian department of excellence Department of Computer, Control, and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti (DIAG) of Sapienza University of Rome. The school aims at bringing together members from the international security research community to debate contemporary issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view. It consists of lectures given by world-leading researchers in this area, working group sessions, and Student forums where participants may share their point of view and discuss their research directions.

Focus

The school is open to Ph.D. and master students, researchers, and practitioners from academia and industry. The school aims at bringing together members from the international security research community to debate contemporary issues about Cybersecurity topics like:

  • Cloud Security
  • Blockchain
  • Machine Learning & Security
  • Threat and risk modelling

Attendance is free of charge, but the number of participants is limited to facilities restrictions.
